As of August 2020, Dalin Zhang has joined the Department of Computer Science as Assistant Professor in the Database and Web Technology (DW) group.
Dalin Zhang obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Jilin University in 2012, and his Master’s Degree from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015, both within Microelectronics.
Earlier this year, he received his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Prior to this, he also worked as a Digital IC Design Engineer at Spreadtrum Communications, Inc. in China.
Describe your area and research interests?
- I am broadly interested in data and learning-based intelligence with novel application. Specifically, I am currently focused on automatically developing compressed deep learning algorithms on mobile applications, including brain-computer interface (BCI), robotics, and wearable equipment.
Why did you choose to continue your career at Aalborg University?
- Aalborg University is highly recognized for its unique problem-based learning mode, which is a favourable opportunity for me to learn and practice teaching skills. In addition, working with prestigious researchers here is exciting and could help me achieve more in my research career.
Any fun facts your new colleagues should know?
- When I am not working, I like to snowboard, play badminton and video games.
