September 2023: EU COST Actions
The COST Actions Open Call 2023 is now open. The next collection date (deadline) will be 25 October 2023 at 12.00 (noon) CEST.
What are COST Actions?
A COST Action is an interdisciplinary research network that brings researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years. COST Actions are typically made up of researchers from academia, SMEs, public institutions and other relevant organisations. Open to all science and technology fields, COST Actions offer an inclusive, pan-European environment for all levels of seniority to grow their professional research networks and boost their careers.
It is essential for research to be interconnected, interdisciplinary, collaborative and data-intensive. By focusing on networking activities, COST Actions advance knowledge and strengthen the research and development sector, by creating networking opportunities for researchers to meet and discuss ideas, complex problems can be addressed in a targeted way, across a large geographical area.
Participants are invited to submit COST Action proposals contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge advancement and development of Europe. Multi- and interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged.
The Open Call Action proposal submission, evaluation, selection and approval (SESA) procedure is fully science and technology-driven and will ensure a simple, transparent and competitive proposal evaluation and selection process, reflecting the bottom-up, open and inclusive principles of COST. Participants planning to submit a proposal for a COST Action will need to refer to the SESA guidelines and to the Open Call Announcement available on this page. The following collection date is expected in Autumn 2024.

September 2023: Explore EU-calls with AAUs new web-based Call Finder app
Have you heard about AAUs new web-based Call Finder app? Check it out.
The Call Finder allows you to browse all EU funded calls based on e.g. keyword search or abstract search. The cross-column panes allow you to refine your search based on programme, EU-topics and destinations, deadline, budget etc. With the app you can search across all EU programmes (incl. closed, open, forthcoming and draft calls) or within a selected programme.
By entering your name, you can perform a search using your VBN profile and obtain results related to your publications. In the cross-column pane you can refine you search further e.g. to only include forthcoming calls and drafts, to only show Research and Innovation Actions, or to show calls referring to a specific Destination:
When you close the cross-column panes you will see a list of calls ranked according to your search criteria.
The search result can be exported to Excel which makes it easier for you to remove irrelevant calls, add columns for you own prioritization and other data.
If you want help to make a search you can send me key words (leh@cs.aau.dk) and details about the type of project you are looking for. I can also demonstrate the system for you or your group.
