Research Area and Focus
- My research focuses on multilingual natural language processing: language technology beyond just English. More specifically, I am interested in working with languages commonly underresearched to reduce the access inequality to language technology applications. Since data is often not abundantly available for these languages, we use what we know about languages and their structural similarities. This linguistic motivation is the starting point for my research.
Projects
- I am part of the TypNLP lab, which was established as part of Johannes Bjerva’s “Multilingual Modelling for Resource-Poor Languages” project founded by the Carlsberg Foundation.
Fun facts
- I have been playing football for more than twelve years. Also, I have a collection of over 80 DVDs of stand-up comedy shows, mostly recorded between 2003 and 2008. None of these are funny anymore.
