Falke Carlsen has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from this department and has joined DEIS as Research Assistant.
PROJECTS YOU ARE/WILL BE INVOLVED IN?
I am a jack-of-all-trades, which my position at the DEIS-group is coloured by.
One of my primary goals is to develop demonstrators showcasing UPPAALs capabilities at conferences and to industry. Expect to play Wordle against UPPAAL Stratego soon.
I spend some of my time working on the CEDAR project, developing instrumentation for monitoring our air-to-water heatpump and reverse-engineering its control-software for us to hook into.
Lastly, I will work on improving the Model Checking Cluster and instructing students in using it effectively.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO CONTINUE YOUR CAREER AT AALBORG UNIVERSITY?
During my studies, I've found the culture of Cassiopeia and social life empowered by, in-part, F-klubben to be a great motivator for excellent work.
I wanted to start my career in an environment where I can thrive and work on a multitude of projects which draws on all of my competences.
FUN AND OTHER FACTS?
Throughout my time at Cassiopeia, I have been invested in the social life of our department. For the past few years, I've been on the board of F-klubben, the main developer and maintainer of 'stregsystemet, as well as having a stint as chairman. Quantitatively, this has resulted in spending 10,070.89 DKK which I consider a great success.
I spend much of my time at a local makerspace, where I learn carpentry to build my own furniture and metal fabrication to renovate my two-wheeled cargo-bike from 1944 (blogpost in Danish).
You can often find me in the cluster common rooms playing board games and serving tastings of my home-brewed beers in the near future.
