Giacomo Loreggia has joined the DKW group for a research training experience, the final step in his Master in ICT for Internet and Multimedia at the University of Padua (Italy).
DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH AREA AND FOCUS
- My research training experience covers different topics such as machine learning, deep learning, image processing, graphs, natural language processing, and data management systems. In particular, Scene Graphs are the focus of my work here at AAU. They are graphs that identify the entities inside an image and find relationships among them. Scene graphs can be applied in many different fields, such as Image Captioning and Visual Question Answering. The latter may become useful in a Smart Assistant context.
PROJECTS YOU ARE INVOLVED IN?
- I will be working in the Data, Knowledge and Web Engineering group under the supervision of assistant professor Matteo Lissandrini.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO CONTINUE YOUR CAREER AT AALBORG UNIVERSITY?
- The topics proposed for my research training experience were interesting, up-to-date, and not available at my home university.
FUN AND OTHER FACTS?
- I am interested in music, photography, travelling, as well as in discovering and exploring new stuff. Knowing new people and get to know different cultures is interesting for me and I am thus always open to it.
