Yiyi Chen has a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Philosophy from Wuhan University. She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in computational Linguistics from Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich. She joins the Copenhagen-based DKW team.
DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH AREA AND FOCUS
- My research focuses on multilingual natural language processing. More specifically, my research strives to 1) integrate information from the field of semantic typology to natural language processing, 2) and further improve the language technology performance in lower-resourced languages, such as transfer learning.
PROJECTS YOU ARE/WILL BE INVOLVED IN?
- I am working on the project “Multilingual Modeling for Resource-Poor Languages”, funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.
FUN AND OTHER FACTS?
- I have a private collection of up to 600 books in the physical form, ranging from literature, math, and logic to philosophy, mainly in English, Chinese, and German. I have watched “Friends” possibly over ten times and remember almost all the details.
