Committee for Cooperation and the Working Environment (SAMU)

About the Committee

The committee for cooperation and the working environment (SAMU) at the Department of Computer Science is part of the university’s management structure. The main goal of the committees is to ensure good cooperation between AAU’s management and employees through high communication and ongoing dialogue. Legal basis

SAMU at the Department of Computer Science operates according to the general cooperation agreement from 2021, which applies to all governmental companies and institutions. According to Article 8 of the cooperation agreement, the department has chosen to merge SAMU and the working environment committee. SAMU also follows the regulations on cooperation regarding safety and health.

Members of the SAMU COMMITTEE 

SAMU consists of:

  • Six members of the academic staff
  • Three members of the technical and administrative staff

The election/appointment period for SAMU started in March 2023, and the next period starts in March 2025.

The working environment committee consists of one elected and one appointed representative from the management. The Head of Department is always a member. Elected representatives are elected for two years at a time but can be elected for up to four years.

SAMU follows the following rules of procedures and meetings are held four times a year according to the yearly cycle.

Action plan for diversity

All departments and faculties have made action plans on gender equality and diversity as decided by AAU Management. At CS focus is on internationalization as decided on SAMU-meeting in autumn 2019. The plan has been followed up on continuously. See recent status below:
